Amazed to find my car on your blog! Bought it two years ago unknown mileage...still replacing parts. Injectors, glowplugs, nothing major...yet! I'd be interested to know when you saw the car and took the photos or were they already on the net?
Now that is an interesting bit of work. I would very much like to chat with the owner. An associate has a clean Range Rover Classic (1988) with a damaged engine and it seems the volvo diesel would be a good option for a replacement. I have a real weakness for VW IDI diesels. (might double the fuel milage too) The rover family used the same ZF 4 speed auto as Volvo on some applications so this may only be an issue of engine mounts, pipes and wires. BUT it is always useful to see the deed already done. Additional info would be welcome - (garbisch at darientel dot net) PS> great Blog!

They were already on the net, Ebay I think? Good luck with it. I guess anything has to be better than a Jag engine :)
